Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends

In the year 1999, four relatively unknown young men would play at low key gigs as support acts. But then came 'yellow' and their first album 'Parachutes' which showcased their talent for the first time.Their second album "A Rush Of Blood To The Head" catapulted them towards super stardom. It won a few Grammy Awards, lured millions of people to their concerts singing along to their 'stadium rock' tunes and turned Coldplay into one of the biggest rock acts on the planet.Since singer Chris Martins life has never been the same. Not to mention the marriage to Oscar winning actress Gwenyth Paltrow and 'paparazzi' a word Chris had never heard of before.
In the year 2005 they released 'X & Y' which in spite of becoming the best selling album of the year worldwide was panned by some critics. And honestly there were some tracks which i couldnt relate to being a Coldplay fan.But all that has been forgotten.
Coldplay is back.In style too.
Frontman Chris Martin had said they possibly couldnt get any bigger as a band so they wanted to get better.Hence the new album where they turn experimental. They hired Brian Eno(as producer) a man who helped make U2 what they are today,a man who worked with 'Rock God' David Bowie and the man who invented the startup sound for Microsoft Windows. He is known as the Father of Ambient Music.

The most awaited album of the year starts with a glorious instrumental 'Life in Technicolour" which was made by infusing many different sounds ,even the Indian tabla too.Initially it was a song with lyrics but when they were told that it was an obvious hit, they just removed them!Martin jokes that he wanted to make an 'amazing ringtone'.Well its my current ringtone anyway.
Then comes 'Cemeteries of London' a rock-folk song that tells the story of ghost..The next track "lost!" is my current bathroom tune..Its the closest coldplay will ever come to gospel music with bellowing church organs driven by hand clapping..It does produce some powerful moments and i cant wait to hear this live.
Things start to get serious with the haunting 42 .Its a three part epic composition with swirling pianos, a radiohead-like middle and old school guitars in the end.Remember 'paranoid android'?
"lovers in japan/Reign of Love"-is the song where the influence of U2 is evident and it makes great listen. Its a potential single.Well thats the problem in this album-every song could be released as a single.
After that theres the catchy Yes' which is influenced by eastern sounds and martin sings in his lower register something we havnt heard before. It contains a hidden track named Chinese Sleep Chant where Martins falsetto is drowned in a pool of juggernaut guitars making the lyrics incomprehensible. This is probably the most interesting song on the album. You can call it 'art-rock'.
Then comes the current(and hugely successful) single 'Viva la Vida' (which means 'long live life') -an instantly melodious song which tells the story of kings, battles and missionaries. 'Violet Hill' another single is the song which probably is least similar to the others on the album. It contains more crunch than any other single coldplay has released.
The Afro-pop influenced 'Strawberry Swing' is another winner which is not difficult to get immersed into. There are signature Coldplay moments that come with this song.
The album closes with 'Death And All his Friends'.A piano rock track which is sure to become a stadium staple. It contains another hidden track called "the escapist".Another melodic soft track track that makes sure that album finishes just the way it had started.

rating:- 4/5.A must buy.And considering the current sales it is gonna be the best selling album worldwide this year.

The Unforgettable Band

Every time i buy a U2 album, i tell myself "Maybe this is the one that will suck."But it never does.Don't ask me why.If i knew that a lot would have been known about the world today.30 years have passed yet they rage on and electrify listeners across the globe.
I was 11 years old when received my first U2 album-"Rattle and Hum".The last song on the album "all i want is you" had blew me away.Bono's ethereal voice soaring over Edge's mellow guitars, the driving bass and the drums laden below was like a drug to the ear.The very next day my uncle gifted me another U2 album 'The Unforgettable Fire."After listening to 'a sort of homecoming' i realized that people didn't call them the biggest band in the world for nothing. It was the most beautiful thing i had ever heard.
The integrity and passion they have for music is palpable in all their songs. Its not just the music but also about the message they spread.I remember watching a dvd of their concert in Chicago. As Bono was raising awareness about poverty in Africa Edge started playing the intro to 'one'.That brought shivers down my spine.Few people know that Bono is the only person on the planet to have received a Nobel Prize nomination along with a Grammy award,Golden Globe and an Oscar nomination(for best soundtrack).
I know it sounds weird but being U2 fan makes me proud.Music would be fucking shit without them.
Heres a list of the U2 songs that actually left a deep imprint somewhere within me.
/A Sort Of Homecoming
/One
/With or Without You
/Beautiful Day
/Where the Streets Have No Name
/Kite
/All I Want Is You
/Miracle Drug
/Who's Gonna Run Your Wild Horses
/Walk On

Jingle Me

Im back.
Its been quite a while.I haven't exactly felt myself during these past few weeks.
I wouldn't call it depression.More like being stuck within oneself.I ain't exactly free if you get what i mean.If your a pseudo-intellect then you definitely wont get what i mean.
Right now life's a silent film.
Frankly speaking there are few things worth looking forward to.The twenty20 world cup being one. However only one incredible aspect of the game arouses me.The dancers(im not talking the Indian team).Man, honestly, both my backsides would fall off if i was made to dance like them. Boy,can they shake those weapons of mass destruction. It gets me high. That proves a lot about the way i feel.People will think i'm crazy. Nah, im just infatuated.
Surfing through channels aint as interesting as it used to be.Even MTV sucks these days.I hardly get too see Cyrus .Vh1s full of commercialized crap.Cheap comedy shows make me sad. Bollywoods nausea prone.Ive had enough of Hollywood.Tollywoods killed me once before.Or was it twice.I don't remember.I must've been having one of my blackouts.
I cant really find a reason for feeling like this.Has virgin blood taken its toll?Or is life a silent film for everyone? ........Whatever i don't give a fuck right now.Its jingle time. The dancing girls are at it again.
Peace.

Bal Qaeda

WARNING- The following article is a piece of cow crap.Read at own risk.

A top secret society that existed on Earth ever since Sir Adolf Hitler killed Jesus. The founder was none other than the infamous terrorist and part time comedian Osaka Bal Laden .This Emmy award winning personality had long rounded up a group of wannabe gigolos soon turning them into militants in his terrorist farm. Most were kidnapped. That explains the disappearance of 100 individuals from the Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles.Their most dangerous weapon to this day is Britney Spears. She had to switch careers since millions of men around the world turned gay after the release of her new single 'Shave It All'.Anyway, forget the atom bomb move over to the sex bomb.
In April 1st 2001 the FBI declared that Osaka Bal Laden was murdered by the Teletubbies while taking a shower. The Teletubbies are a feared group of four hostile multi-coloured Martians. This theory was however abandoned since on the same day the notorious mass murderer Tinky Winky (leader of teletubbies) was found in bed with Paris Hilton , thanks to a sting operation conducted by Gordon Summer.
Pakistan Intelligence howver claims that Bal-Qaeda is anything but a terrorist group. They say it is a feminist society which believes that lesbianism encourages the growth of a country alongside capitalism. They also go on to say that the leader of Bal-Qaeda is none other than the evil magician and small time rapper Lord Voldemort.
The FBI refused to believe this and recent findings state that the Bal-Qaeda headquarters are situated in St.James' School, Calcutta.I must admit this the most far-fetched theory relating to Bal-Qaeda.But then.........

life-ed out

Once again i end up thinking about life, the the only known STD with a 100% fatality rate.I remember a Dalai Lama who claimed to know the secrets of life.Apparently he turned out to be an imposter and is currently hiding somewhere in Los Angeles.
There was a dude called Buddha too,who discovered enlightment when he sat under a tree and was hit on the head with an apple(yea rite!).From a semi-naked man with leaves for 'privates' i couldnt expect more.I guess ill have to unravel the mystery myself.
Life, generally is over rated.Ive figured that much out.

Beginnings

Honestly speaking im about as good a writer as Gandhi was a stripper but thoughts of instigating millions with my novels have occurred to me before.Ive never been much of a blogger but this new activity seems to be an efficient way to get rid of other inevitable tensions for a class 10 bugger like me.Class10.Ive only experienced a month of this so called 'paranoia' and trust me its a load of hyped-up bull crap.
I don't know how many of you are aware of it, but a new breed of students are evolving in my school.A revolution is being undertaken led by the charismatic 'son of a gun' Soham Dey who happens to be my comrade. St.James's School. A school ruled by the tyrannically and not so efficiently "You Know Who"........no im not talking about lord voldemort. But anyway someone has to put an end to it.
Throughout the day millions of little thoughts swarm through my little head hoping to get noticed but only a few do, somewhat similar to millions of you know whats. Its strange you know the way a powerful emotion overtakes giving you foresight.Powerful emotions rise from little pieces of matter making you feel invincible and after a split second they fade out chaining you back to reality.Little things 'flash upon my inward eye' as i feel like taking a stroll down Reflection street sarching for questions rather than answers. You may think im a quintessential philosopher trying to blow magnificent balloons out of balls. But im not.Im just a 15 year old retard who'll enlighten you like never before.Join me as we undertake this journey towards the yellow stars stars above us,or even beyond.(in other words get high).
p.s - Side effects include--->desire for murder, appetite for destruction, longing to dance with the wind, unexplainable spasms of excitement, and many other things that are not decent enough to be mentioned on an interactive website.
