Sympathy

Do you remember the days?
The days where light was too bright
To be overshadowed by the dark.
Remember us?
As we roamed around the Garden of Eden
Singing to our souls

The bright sun still stands today
The only difference is that this time
The light blinds us into sorrow
Plunging us even more into the realms of darkness

As equals we entered this new abode
But then things changed
You claimed to be a clairvoyant, you did
Told me to wait in darkness,
While you made the flawless place for mankind
Heaven you called it,
We parted thus.

The prophecy you made was lost in the sands of time
Earth was anything but Utopia
Blood, hatred, anger, revenge
Reigned Supreme.
And it was I who was blamed
Lucifer I was named
And as they felt my presence
They dreaded the first signs of Armageddon
Yes, I remember you did send Him,
Yet,
The battle rages on.

Do you remember the days?
The days where light was too bright
To be overshadowed by the dark.
